Julian Debreuil

Bass-baritone Julian Debreuil has been praised by critics for his ‘rich and powerful voice’. He has won the Bonn International Music Competition, been a finalist in the Nomea & Manhattan International Singing Competitions and highly commended in the UK Wagner Society Singing Competition.

Julian has performed with Opera de Marseille, Ravenna Opera Festival, New York Wagner Society, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Buxton Festival Opera and Longborough Opera Festival. His roles include Der Hollaender Der Fliegende Hollaender, Wotan Das Rheingold & Die Walkure, Don Pizarro Fidelio, Prince Gremin Eugene Onegin, Colline La Bohème, Don Basilio Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Masetto Don Giovanni and Angelotti Tosca.

Concert highlights include Verdi’s Requiem with the Philharmonia Orchestra, The Apostles with the BBC Concert Orchestra, The Dream of Gerontius with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, Missa Solemnis Beethoven with the Southbank Sinfonia and Johannes-Passion Bach with the London Handel Players.

Julian has a BMus Hon (Royal College of Music), a BA & MA in History (Kings College London University), an MSc in Psychology (Brunel University), and an MBA in Global Finance from the University of Chicago Booth Business School.

Since the Pandemic he has also been working as an Energy Analyst for AJ Taylor Ltd, and now for Coventry Family Finance Ltd. Before entering the music industry, Julian was a professional footballer and sprinter.
