Vivaldi - Beatus vir RV597
This work was composed, most likely, in the later 1720s when Vivaldi had a second period composing sacred music.
For whom Vivaldi was writing at this time is not clear. Certainly it was not the Pietà , since the works are more complex and opulent, mostly for double forces, clearly for a larger church. There remains part of a Mass for double chorus and orchestra and settings of Vesper psalms, of which Beatus vir RV 597 is one, along with the fine Dixit Dominus.
