Vivaldi - Beatus vir RV597

This work was composed, most likely, in the later 1720s when Vivaldi had a second period composing sacred music.

For whom Vivaldi was writing at this time is not clear. Certainly it was not the Pietà, since the works are more complex and opulent, mostly for double forces, clearly for a larger church. There remains part of a Mass for double chorus and orchestra and settings of Vesper psalms, of which Beatus vir RV 597 is one, along with the fine Dixit Dominus.
